The EcoSticker and Fine Particulates
Through tin introduction of the EcoSticker in November 2011 for the traffic of Lorries and busses in Danish the environmental zones, the government wishes to achieve in the long term the requirements of the European directive on air pollution and its consequences on human health.
However, the Danish EcoSticker mainly focuses on fine particulates (PM). This measure doesn’t enable to reduce the presence of nitrogen oxide (NOx), hydrocarbon (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO). For that purpose, other measures should be consider, such as the introduction of a badge reducing the presence of nitrogen oxide as well, like the Crit’Air vignette in France or the planed Blue NOX Badge in Germany.
